Nkuene Girls High School was started in 1973 as a community school. It is sponsored by Methodist Church of Kenya(M.C.K. ) and has a student population of 600 students. The school is 3 streamed and is rated as a provincial school.

  

                                                                HUMAN RESOURCE

               We have 28 teachers employed by T.S.C. and 7 teachers employed by B.O.G. We have 22 support staff and occasionally we have casuals.

 

                                                           PHYSICAL FACILITIES.

We have 13 classrooms, 3 laboratories, 1multi-purpose hall, 1 staffroom, l small room used as library. 5 Dormitories, 2 sanitation blocks 4 staff house 1 fish pond.

 

                                                                  ACADEMICS.

Our K.C.P.E entry behavior ranges between 300 – 340 marks over the years and specifically 3 years ago we have made tremendous improvement as shown in the below.

 

                                                          ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES.    

· Sundowner teaching daily from Monday – Friday

· Saturday teaching

· Peer teachers –Our own students who perform well are recalled back before joining Unvirsity.

· Symposiums/Beach marking: So for we have been in Kyeni Girls - Embu – 9.6 2011

· Loreto Limuru - 10.2 -2012

· Nairobi Girls –9.8 2010

 

     NB

· Internally we set target per class, which are rewarded termly.

· We have evening hour for discussion groups.

· We have special Maths programmes.               

· Syllabus coverage is set for September for Forms 1, 2 , 3 and March for F4s.

· Target for 2012 class was 8.9.

 

                                                                P.TA. PROJECT

· Currently we are constructing a computer Laboratory.

· The remaining works are,

- Plastering, fixing of doors/windows,

- External fixtures and electricity.
